Work Permit

Please note : VisaDay don’t provide  work permit services to any country

Work Permit Visa is a temporary visa that allows foreign nationals to live and work in Canada. It is not a points-assessed category and the foreign national does not have to meet any point’s threshold in order to qualify. The features of this visa are that it allows the applicants as well as their immediate family members to enter Canada and work there temporarily. This is not a points-based category and the applicant does not have to satisfy the eligibility criteria to work in Canada.

The foreign worker is eligible for the following benefits provided by employment insurance as Canadian permanent residents:

  • Regular benefits
  • Sickness benefits
  • Maternity benefits
  • Parental benefits
  • Compassionate care benefits

Eligibility Criteria:

  • have a valid passport or other travel document issued by their country of residence
  • be in good health (a medical exam may be required)
  • provide proof that they have sufficient funds to support their stay in Canada
  • demonstrate that their stay in Canada is temporary
  • not have a criminal record, nor be considered a security risk

Important Information Regarding Work Permit:

  • Your employer may need to get a labour market opinion (LMO) from Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC). An LMO confirms that there is no Canadian or permanent resident available, and the employer can fill the job with a foreign worker
  • For staying in Canada and for getting a work permits, you may need a temporary resident visa
  • A work permit is not an immigration document. It does not allow you to live in Canada permanently. To live in Canada permanently, you must qualify under an immigration category, such as a skilled worker
  • Live–in caregivers who meet certain requirements can apply to stay in Canada permanently.
  • Your spouse or common-law partner and your dependent children may apply to come to Canada with you
  • International students are now able to work off campus if they have a valid work permit for students
